This is the initial volume of Alexandre Tansman’s works for guitar in a new critical edition by Frédéric Zigante, consisting of the Polish composer’s musical homages to two historically important and influential compatriots: the composer Fryderyk Chopin and union leader Lech Wa esa. This edition is based on a detailed analysis of all of the available autograph manuscripts and a reconstruction of the sources and decisions involved in the original publications, providing informed solutions for many of the open questions generated by these earlier editions.
